Norway & Croatia Sign € 103 Million Deal

Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released a statement saying that Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) has signed agreements with Croatia worth a total of 103.4 million euros (almost NOK one billion).

 

Minister Solberg formally finalized within Croatia yesterday, and the agreements will contribute to both strengthening business and justice cooperation with Croatia through EEA funds.

STRONGER SECURITY
Giving formal comment after the Croatian tete-a-tete, Minister Solberg said; “With today’s agreements, we strengthen cooperation between Norway & Croatia within key business & security sectors.’ –

“These new agreements with Croatia will generate strong opportunities for Norwegian businesses to enter into Croatian project partnerships,” said Solberg.

Yesterday’s signing of the Croatian agreements brings an end to Prime Minister Solberg’s two-day state visit to Serbia & Croatia; with her agenda addressing
economic development & security within both Europe & the Western Balkans.

INCREASED COOPERATION
The new Norwegian / Croatian agreement includes a program utilizing Innovation Norway (IN), which will contribute to an increased cooperation between Norwegian & Croatian companies.

Also, Norway’s Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) will be involved in energy cooperation with Croatia, and Norway’s contribution to Croatia will help in both reforming the public sector and in strengthening civil society.

Croatia & Norway established diplomatic relations on February 20, 1992. Croatia has an embassy within Oslo and Norway has its embassy in Zagreb, along with an honorary consulate in Croatia’s Rijeka.

Both countries are full members of the Council of Europe and NATO.

While Norway is not a member of the EU, Norway’s government pursues an active European policy under the European Economic Area Agreement (EEA).
