The population of Norway is expected to reach 6 million in 2030, according to Statistics Norway.

Today, the population in Norway is 5.2 million, according to new population projections by Statistics Norway (SSB) presented Tuesday.
Norway will reach 6 million inhabitants just after the year 2030. When will Norway have gone from five million to six million residents under 20 years, which is the fastest million crossing in Norway’s history.

According to population projections, the population will continue to increase in the future, because the number of immigrations and births will still be higher than the number of emigrants and deceased.

SSB expect population growth to come primarily comes in urban areas, and that the cities will grow significantly. If calculations are correct, the population of Oslo will pass 700,000 over the next ten years. Bergen will pass 300,000 and Trondheim 200,000 residents during the same period. A sharp growth is also expected in many of the communities located near large cities-

SSB expects the population growth in the country to continue, but not at the same rapid pace. By 2060, we will pass the 7 million mark, and by 2090 we will reach 8 million, if the prognoses is correct.
