The Military preparedness of Norway is too poor and means that we are not sufficiently prepared for an attack. That is the conclusion of the annual report of the Military for 2015, NRK reported.

According to NRK the Chief of Defence Haakon Bruun-Hansen will deliver the report to Defence Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide (H) on Monday morning, to show that there are fewer exercises in the Military than before – and also an insuficient Military preparedness.
– We solve the daily operations at home and abroad very well, but our very tight operating budget going to get us into trouble . We have backlog of maintenance, and this has consequences for the excercises, training and perhaps also  our preparedness and state of readiness in the coming years,  Chief of Defence spokesman, Lt. Col. Eystein Malkenes Kvarving said.
He says priorities set in the last 10-15 years, with an emphasis on international operations, have meant that preparedness plans and preparations for a military defense at home, have been abandoned.
– The priority of the defense is to get a new long-term plan which will enable us to meet the greatest challenges we may face, namely a military attack on Norway. It’s a genuine problem that we have not been sufficiently well prepared,  Kvarving says.
