A passenger plane from Edinburgh to Stockholm had to land at Sola airport outside Stavanger on Sunday afternoon because of a smoky stove.

The fire department was notified of the smoke development in the cabin on the Boeing 737 machine just after 11:30 on Easter Sunday. Ten minutes later  the airport reported that the plane had landed, the smoke development was under control and that there was no need for assistance from the fire brigade.
The plane was a plane from Norwegian en route from Edinburgh to Arlanda in Stockholm.
– Our plane made a safety landing in Stavanger because of smoke. It was quite undramatic, but safety always comes first. Therefore the pilots  chose to land the plane,  Tonje Næss of Norwegian says to Stavanger Aftenblad.
The smoke came from a stove in the plane. Just before 14.30 the passengers continued on their way to Arlanda with a new aircraft.
