The Immigration authorities ‘ internal evaluation shows that there are major shortcomings in efforts to determine the identity of asylum seekers and immigrants, writing newspaper VG.

The report, which  VG has gained access to, reveals major shortcomings in the immigration authorities ‘ ID-work.

The ones in charge think that the preliminary identification work is not good enough, that all the parts of the process are marred by queues, that there is often a lack of real communication  and a lack of a good methodology for the work that is done. In addition, the police districts are not implementing the measures that UD wants them to implement, and the efforts at guiding the  asylum seekers and making them responsible are not good enough, according to the evaluation.
-In connection with the project, several so-called  improvement labs have been tried out in cooperation with UDI and other authorities in immigration management, Håvard Johnson Creek, section leader for the ID in the Police Immigration Service (PU)  says to the paper.
UDI do not think the evaluation provides an accurate picture of their work, but admits that it is possible to  improve things.
