Norwegian man dies after elephant attack in Malawi

A Norwegian man died of injuries he received after an elephant attack while on a safari in Malawi. The man was an experienced safari leader.

The accident occurred in mid-November, and the man had been admitted to a hospital in South Africa, writes Haugesunds Newspaper.

The man was from Haugesund and was in his early 70s. He has been on hundreds of safari’s, as a photographer and safari leader.

According to family sources and the local police, the vehicle carrying six persons overturned, and everyone came out relatively unharmed from the accident.

The Norwegian stopped to take some photos, but was attacked by the elephant. He was flown to the hospital with critical injuries, and died last week, according to the newspaper.
