More Norwegians want to spend all or part of the Christmas holidays abroad, shows population surveys of Norwegians’ travel habits.

– Even more will travel this year spending part or all of Christmas holidays abroad, and it is the youngest who are most eager to go away at Christmas, says Sverre McSeveny-Åril, director of Real Travel Global.

15 percent of Norwegians are going to spend all or part of their holiday abroad. For people in their thirties the interest is twice that of people in their forties.

– Our feedback indicates that we are seeing a Brexit effect and that London and the rest of the British Isles are drawing Norwegians for Christmas shopping and New Year celebrations to an even greater extent than previously seen, says McSeveny-Åril.

For those who want to celebrate Christmas in the sun and heat the Canary Islands and Gran Canaria are Norwegians clear Christmas favorite, but their is also Thailand who get their fair share of Christmas holiday guests.
