One person was Tuesday afternoon found dead in a burned out Volvo station wagon standing by the county road 23 at Roa in Lunner municipality in Oppland.
The burnt-out car had no visible impact of damage when it was transported away from the site on Wednesday morning.
The police were notified of the car fire at 15.30 pm Tuesday. When the fire was extinguished it was discovered that a dead person was in the car.
The death is considered suspicious, and the deceased will be sent for autopsy as part of regular procedures, the police said.
On Wednesday morning Innland Police are not going to say anything more about the case, but told everyone to wait for their press release this Wednesday afternoon.
– At the present time, we would not be able to say anything more about the circumstances of death, police attorney Trine Hanssen in Innland Police said in a statement late Tuesday night.
– We were alerted to the fire by a bystander. We arrived at the scene and made tactical and technical investigations on the spot, operations leader Kristian Bjaanes in Inland police said to the newspaper VG.
The investigations at the site were finished at 2 am on Wednesday.
