A man in his 60s has been found dead after a light aircraft crashed at Kjølsen north of Halden, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre said .
We know that there was at least one person on board, and it appears that the crash was fatal, rescue leader on duty at JRCC of southern Norway, Ståle Jamtli, says to the news agency NTB.
– We do not yet know what has happened, and we did were notified of the crash by the NHS, Jamtli says.
He says that they know the identity of the person concerned. Relatives are so far not notified, and police will therefore not divulge any further details at this point.
The police have initiated a search for any other people who may have been on board, in addition to aircraft parts.
The JRCC of Southern Norway reported the crash on Twitter at 18.36.
