The Crown Prince couple welcomed NHO Director Kristin Skogen Lund and several other guests who accepted their invitation to the Business for Peace dinner Skaugum Monday night.
The dinner was held in connection with the Business for Peace conference held in Oslo on Monday and Tuesday this week.
Over 100 leaders from business, academia, government and civil society will meet to develop business ideas with both economic and social benefits.
On Tuesday Crown Prince Haakon will make the opening speech before the award ceremony Oslo Business for Peace Award kicks off. The award is given to business executives who take social responsibility and is committed more than the bottom line. This year Tore Lærdal (Norway) will share the award with fashion designer Sarah Beydoun from Lebanon and dr. Jennifer Nkuene Riri of Kenya, who heads a company that provides microfinancing. Laerdal is the head of Laerdal Medical, an international supplier of equipment and training in emergency first aid, which has put a particular emphasis on reducing mortality among children and mothers in developing countries in connection with childbirth.
This year’s conference is the tenth such conference.
