Ambulance workers harassed by drunk people

Three out of four ambulance workers often or once in a while experience that intoxicated people around the patient makes it difficult to perform the job.

In a survey of 874 ambulance workers it emerged that many of them have been harassed by drunk or intoxicated people, according to Dagbladet.
Ambulance workers say they have been threatened and physically assaulted by intoxicated persons, according to the survey, which has been made by Actis for Fagforbundet (the Trade Association).
“Have been threatened with death with a loaded gun, a knife and verbally. All the threats involving were made by intoxicated people, ” one of them responds.
– Violence, intimidation and harassment of intoxicated patients or other people on site  make up a large part of our work day, especially on weekends. This is  both physically and mentally demanding,  clinic representative Erik Hox at the ambulance department of Oslo University says.
