Graveyard Management in Trondheim are trying to get the company behind mobile game Pokemon Go to protect cemeteries.

The management wants them to remove the landmarks that are located at cemeteries Lademoen and Havstein in Trondheim the newspaper Adresseavisen reported. Game developer Niantic has stated that it is possible to report inappropriate locations on the support page, which graveyard management did on June 15th and later sent reminders about this compliant.

– I would urge Pokémon Go players to stay away. It can be perceived as disrespectful and insulting to those who grieve, said acting director Inge Torset of Nidaros.

The Norwegian Church will be talking about the extent of the problem in the largest councils.

– The Church sees in general that the fun and games are very good, and the game will have plenty of outdoor activity which is positive. Yet this must be weighed against the graveyard entries and the very special role this place plays in people’s lives, says the Department of Church Growth, Paul Erik Wirges.
