The police believes a man in his 20s from Tromso has committed online sexual abuse of around 60 children. He is also charged with physical abuse of several children.

The case has been investigated since March this year.

According to the police, most of the instances of abuse occurred  between 2014 and 2016, and the victims were then aged 12 to 15 years.

Most of them are from Tromso, but as a part of their  investigations the police have found out that in some of instances of abuse one or more the victims have been located elsewhere in the country.

– So far we have uncovered and questioned about 60 victims and police are still working on the analysis of the information.

The scope of the case is steadily increasing while the investigation continues,  Elin Norgård Strand, police attorney  in Troms Police said.

The accused man has been remanded in custody since March, when police started their investigation into the case.
