Police in Oslo are increasing their presence in the streets as a direct result of the attack on the Christmas market in Berlin.

– We are increasing patrols in places where large crowds gather, including the Christmas market in Spikersuppa, said operations manager Cathrine Sylju of the police to NRK news.
Sylju has stated that there are so far no concrete threat factors that underlie the measures. She points out that it is quite natural for the police to expel increased vigilance after the attack in Berlin.
Police stressed that the security is not changed.
– We are continuously evaluating the measures to be implemented, and relate to any changes in threat assessments to local security services, she said.
Twelve people were killed and 48 wounded when an offender drove into the crowd that was gathered at a Christmas market in Berlin on Monday evening.
