An additional 270 million NOK have been allocated the police in order for them to continue their work on the increased influx of asylum seekers.
Among other things, the money will be used for maintaining the 39 new positions  that were established in the fall, strengthening  the registration work in the Police Immigration Service (PU) and for identification and taking fingerprints, according to the National Police Directorate (POD).
Th allocation will be funding a total of 285 FTEs.
– It is difficult to anticipate how the migration situation will develop in 2016. This represents a factor of uncertainty for the agency and it may require rapid changes in priorities, Director Frede Hermansen POD says to TV2 News.
