The police suspect that the car that burned at Rødtvet in Oslo on Saturday night was an arson attack.

“On-site findings means we suspect the fire may be arson,” police said on Twitter just after 03.30.

Operations Manager, Tor Jøkling, told NTB news that the suspicion is due to discoveries made on the spot, but does not want to say what the police had found.

“We have found objects that make us suspect that the fire could be an arson attack,” he said.

The objects and the car were brought in for forensic investigations. In addition, on Sunday or Monday there will be a routine interrogation, including the car owners.

The car was parked along a street at Rødtvet in Oslo. The message about the fire arrived just before 03.00. The car was burning when the emergency services arrived at the spot.
