Immigration Service Officers (PU) are increasingly experiencing that people who deported from Norway are not at reception when they are retrieved. The unit suspects disloyalty.

– I am aware that there are suspicions among police employees that staff at reception centers alerted in certain circumstances about planned arrests, said Steward Andreas Pareli Wahl from PU to newspaper Nettavisen.

The issue has also been taken up at a briefing in the Immigration Unit.
– We have been in some cases “Unsuccessful” and it is important to evaluate these cases. This is because asylum seekers wish to tip or hide the facts from employees or by private individuals which is very unfortunate, said Wahl.

He believes it is the Directorate of Immigration (UDI), which manages the centers, which are responsible for clean these up.

Immigration confirms that they are familiar with the challenges police experience but perceive that happening to a limited extent. The Directorate also states that it has been developed new routines.
– The police are responsible for the communication, which is normally directed at the reception center. This is to avoid that the information is widely known on the reception, said Acting Deputy Director Knut Henrik Berntsen in UDI.
