Police suspect that the drug GHB is being produced locally in Aalesund, in connection with the fact there has been  five registered GHB overdoses, including one death, in the city over the past week.

Since Monday, the police have had five cases of overdosing on the drug. Wednesday three people overdosed on the drug in two different places One  died in his own home as a result of GHB intake and two people were hospitalized.

– Police have reason to believe that the drug is produced locally. Samples will be sent for analysis, but it concerns authorities since it is a very dangerous, potentially deadly substance that is not manufactured under the control of the Norwegian Medicines Control Authority, said police attorney Mathias Haber to NRK news.

Thursday and Friday, the police have conducted several interviews, and it has created cases concerning drug dealing, said police prosecutor.
