Polish 31-year-old died by drowning at Jæren

A 31 year old man died in a drowning accident in the river at Brusand in Jæren in Rogaland Sunday afternoon.

31-year-old received CPR on site and was later brought to Stavanger University Hospital with a rescue helicopter from the Rescue Coordination Centre Southern Norway, said South Western Police District.

Shortly later lit the hospital that the man was pronounced dead. He should have been on board a boat along with two other men when he decided to go swimming.

– The man swam in the river and was taken by the powerful stream and was unable not get out of the water, said operations leader Henning Andersen to the local newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.
It was the other two men who alerted about the drowning. All three are Polish.
