Polish president welcomed by the King and Polish children

President Andrzej Duda and Mrs. Agata Grain Hauser-Dudas from Poland were welcomed by King Harald, Queen Sonja and Polish children at the Palace Square on Monday morning.

President Andrzej Duda is officially invited by King Harald, and is on a state visit to Norway from Monday to Wednesday this week.

The President welcomed the royal family outside Palace Square on a rainy Oslo Monday. Later, Duda placed a wreath down at the National Monument for war victims at the fortress square in Akershus Fortress. Together with the King, Duda will also visit Joint Headquarters at Reitan and the headstone in Narvik commemorating Poles who died in Norway during WWII.

A number of heavy political issues will be discussed when the president on Monday afternoon, meets Erna Solberg in Oslo. Security policy, defense and the NATO summit that will be in the Polish capital Warsaw in July, are among the important topics.

The extensive labor migration from Poland will also be a topic at the meeting.
