King Harald noted that several of the politicians have rejoiced enough that castle park (Slottsparken) is so well suited to collect Pokémon points when he spoke at the annual castle dinner with members of parliament.

In his habitual joking tone, the king looked both back and forth in time when he spoke to government and parliament representatives during the castle dinner Thursday night.

When it was time for the solemn annual dinner with the country’s elected people the king chose the castle’s large dining room.

The King took up the royal couple’s 25 years on the throne and looked back at the many activities that have taken place in the Royal Palace in the past year, including children ski race which was held there during winter.

– There was even an occasion for a special film show.

Harvest laughter

– What we did not realize is that Slottsparken has many attractions that give good points in Pokémon GO. To the delight of Parliament representatives, that is how I understand it said the king and harvested laughter from the politicians.

Liberal leader Trine Skei Grande was photographed during the open hearing of the Armed Forces Long-Term Plan of Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense while she played Pokémon GO. And Prime Minister Erna Solberg used her spare time to collect Pokémon points.

Would not have fences

The king did not mention about the asylum situation concretely, or the construction of the border fence in Finnmark will help to control arriving asylum seekers. But he concluded, before he proposed “Cheers! to Parliament and the Fatherland.”

– In different ways, we have very fond memories of all the events in this jubilee anniversary. Something that still is common is the feeling that we all continue to meet – under an open sky and no fences between us. Let us hope that we can continue like this.
