Pope Francis has arrived in Sweden, where he will mark the occassion of it being 500 years since the Reformation.
The plane with the pope landed in Malmo on Monday morning. It was met with Catholics shouting “Hallelujah” as the plane arrived, according to the newspaper Aftonbladet.
The visit marks the 500 years that have passed since the Reformation, which led to a number of European countries cutting ties with the Catholic Church.
A majority Protestant Sweden wants the Pope to promote a message of cooperation between different groups of Christians.
