Powerful typhoon on Philippines

At least two people have died and three are missing after a powerful typhoon hit the Philippines on Saturday.

Several villages are without electricity, roofs have been blown off houses, and roads are flooded after the typhoon  Karika hit the Philippines at a speed of 60 meters per second Saturday.

More than 12,000 people have had to evacuate their homes and have sought cover.

So far, one man has drowned after being dragged in strong river currents. Another man was turned over by the strong winds and died because of injuries to his head when he hit the ground .

Around 300 national and international flights have been canceled and thousands of passengers are stranded at ports after  ferry services were canceled as well.
