On Saturday it’s 47 years since Princess Märtha Louise was born.On the occasion of the birthday, the Princess’s Fund will provide money for 41 projects for disabled children.

Märtha Louise was born on September 22, 1971 at the Rikshospitalet in Oslo. She is number four in line for the crown after Crown Prince Haakon and his children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus.

Since 2005, however, her birthday has not been an official flag day,as it is for the birthdays of the royal couple,Crown Prince and Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

Every year on Märtha Louise’s birthday, her fund gives her money in Norway to help children with disabilities. On Friday it became known that the fund this year will give a total of 475,000 kroner to 41 projects across the country. Among those who receive money this year are several local teams of ADHD supports in Norway and the Diabetes Association, Oslo Døveforening, Handicapped Children’s Parents’ Association, and Dyslexia Norway.

Earlier this month it became known that in May next year the princess will establish the much-discussed “Engleskolen” (Angel School), in collaboration with Elisabeth Nordeng.

She also debuted at Bjerke two weeks ago.

In August the princess sold the beach property, Bloksberg, at Hankø in Østfold, which has belonged to the royal family since then Crown Prince Olav bought it in 1947.
