PST: Convicted bomb making 18 years old caught planning a terror attack in Norway

PST has been tipped that a convicted 18 year old was planning to use his own Volkswagen Caravelle in a terrorist plan in Norway, according to VG.

 

Norwegian authorities wish to send the Russian citizen out of the country because they believe he represents a threat to fundamental national interests.

According to VG, the Police Security Service (PST) has received information that suspects the 18 year old has planned a terrorist attack in Norway, using his own car.

The teenager was sentenced to ten months in prison earlier this autumn for bringing a homemade explosive device to Greenland in Oslo where he had plans to detonate it. He had spent a long time in custody and was released after the verdict, but was recently arrested again. He was then presented in Oslo District Court with a request for detention in anticipation of an expulsion receipt against him.

«PST estimates that N.N. (journ.anm. bombing field russer) is radicalized and that he sympathizes with ISIL. N. N.’s interest in ISIL propaganda means that PST has a particular concern for him,» According to VG, the verdict of the district court.

The security service has not opened a formal investigation against the 18 year old, partly because of the desire to get him out of the country.

The 18 year old defence lawyer, Javeed Shah, has currently no comment on the matter.
