Police have closed the path up to Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) because of reports of rain and storm. Several freezed and injured tourists have already received help from health professionals.

– It is not recommended to walk in the mountains now. The main reason why the trail to the Pulpit Rock is closed is to provide Norwegian First Aid and other health professionals a safe work path to work.

There are several tourists who need help. There are reports of a bone fracture, heart problems and hypothermia, said operations manager Kjetil Føyen to newspaper Aftonbladet.

Norwegian First Aid has now emptied Pulpit Rock plateau for people and opened a warm living camp near the trail.

Føyen also states that police are considering closing the trail to the mountain Kjerag in Lysefjorden.
On Sunday the Meteorological Department announced OBS-forecast with reports of heavy rain and strong wind in Hordaland, Rogaland and Sogn and Fjordane.
