It has never rained more in Bergen. Today the muddy city has this summer’s third rain record. August is the wettest month since 1989.

Over 353 millimeters of rainfall was in the measurer at Florida in Bergen. Thus, the August 1989 record was deleted, and the year’s last summer month is the wettest in 27 years, says NRK news.

The figure is the highest ever recorded since measurements began at the site with the ironic-sounding name, compared with its name space across the Atlantic.

Lillian Kalve, principal at weather prediction in western Norway, denies that meteorologists celebrate summer’s third precipitation record.

– That is enough now. We had already two records, she says.

July was the wettest month and had also the wettest day.
The record is still modest compared with measurements at Frederiksberg at Nordnes in Bergen.

In 1929 it rained a whole 415 millimeters in August.
From 1983 the Florida station became the official in Bergen.
