Helge Lurås, editor of the much discussed website, Resett.no, has applied for membership of the editorial association.

This was confirmed by Lurås himself to newspaper ‘Dagen’.

‘’Resett was established because we believe the established media do not do a good job. We want a good, critical, and diverse press. Thus, it is also natural that we try to influence the editorial association and its members in the right direction.

This is best done by being a member’’ Lurås wrote in an email.

“But it would also be interesting for me to hear more about what the other editors think about themselves and about Reset. I probably have something to learn from the others too,’ he added.

Earlier this summer, the Norwegian Editorial Society (Norsk Redaktørforening) approved the document editor, Hans Rustad, as a member. Then chairman Harald Stanghelle stated in the editorial association that they should not decide what people should think about.

“The crucial thing is that the media is committed to the Vær varsom-plakaten and Redaktørplakaten,” said Stanghelle.
