The Road Administration fears more motorcycle fatalities

Four bikers so far this year have been killed when running off the road, and at Pentecost there have been several motorcycle accidents. NPRA is worried about what the rest of the season will be like.

We have lost four MC colleagues before May 17th . This is tragic and we are a bit concerned about what the rest of the season will be like, says senior adviser Lars-Inge Haslie NPRA NRK news.
He says the typical spring accidents often happen due to a combination of high speed and motorcycle riders who are not skilled enough. Many drivers are also a bit “rusty” after a long winter.
Since 2011, the 22 motorcyclists killed each year on average . With four deaths so far this year, there will be at least one fatality per week through August if this year will get the average number of fatalities , the channel writes.
– The thing we do is not without risks. The more prepared you are, the less likely it is that you end up in this type of situation, Morten Hansen, secretary general of the Norwegian Motorcycle Union (NMCU) says.
Anumber of motorcycle accidents involving single accidents and collisions with other vehicles have been reported Pentecost monday. One person was flown in an air ambulance to Oslo University Hospital with serious injuries.
