On Friday King Harald and Queen Sonja left Oslo for their Easter holiday, which they will spend in the same place as last year. They traveled on the same train from the same platform, apparently wearing exactly the same clothes as in 2015.

The royal couple and Crown Prince family plan on going skiing and spending time in the mountains  in this year’s Easter, like many Norwegians. Norwegians like traditions, and the royal couple was wearing the same clothes as last year when they arrived Friday afternoon platform 19 at Oslo, like they usually do when they are traveling on Easter holidays to Sikkilsdalen. They step up the same red carpet and into their regular train car. King Harald wears the same thick coats as last year and a white shirt, brown pants and dark leather shoes. Queen Sonja wore the same coat and apparently the same pants as in 2015 and 2013, possibly the same shoes as well.
–  The King and Queen will be celebrating Easter in Sikkilsdalen as usual,  communications manager Marianne Hagen at the Royal Palace confirms.
The castle does not comment on whether the royal couple will be entertaining any guests during the holiday, nor the repeated cabin wardrobe, except that the royal family is modern and concerned about the environment, including recycling.

Birkebeiner
The Crown Prince and Princess have plans for holiday at the cottage, at Uvdal, where they have their own cabin. But first Crown Prince Haakon will be participating in the Birkebeiner competion.
After attending his first Birkebeiner race last year,  Crown Prince Haakon will be at the starting line once more  in Rena Saturday, like the Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Duchess Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton. The last two have previously been contestants in Vasaloppet.
Last year  Crown Prince Haakon completed the 54 kilometers on 3.36.12 and was number 440 in the class 40-44 years. He had the support of his family along the trail, where Queen Sonja, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and his children all lined up. The castle would not comment on whether they will be cheering the Crown Prince this year as well, in what has been billed as a princely duel between him and the Danish heir to the throne.
