All of the royal family gathered on the palace balcony on 17 May to wave to the people and the children’s parade.
On a sunny day with a temperature of 18 degrees, the annual parade in Oslo marched into the Castle Square in front of the castle on Tuesday morning.
The children’s parade began its march to the castle at various locations in the capital, before marching past Parliament and then marching through Karl Johans gate. The part where the children gather at the castle is the highlight of the three-hour march, which ends at Rådhusplassen( the City Hall Square) at 13 o’clock.
Around 60,000 children participate and thousands of spectators have turned up in the streets of Oslo to enjoy the waving of flags, marching band music and all the other things that make up the national day.
