The Kremlin reacted strongly to US threats to carry out cyber-attacks against Russia in reaction to the fact that Washington believes Russian is behind hacking.

CIA is ready to carry out cyber-attacks to humiliate the Kremlin, said Vice President Joe Biden Friday.

The statement came in as US last week formally accused Russia of being behind the cyber-attacks against American institutions, including the Democratic Party’s National Committee (DNC).

Jurij Usjakov, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy adviser, says threats bordering impudence.

– These threats against Moscow and our government are unheard because they come from someone so high up in the system as vice president.

Because of this aggressive and unpredictable attitude, we must take precautions to protect our interests, said Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin.
