NATO is confrontational,  Russia believes. We are just responding to the actions of Russia ,NATO says .

– All that  NATO has to offer, is a confrontational agenda that we are not interested in,  Russia’s Ambassador to NATO Alexander Grusjko says to the newspaper Kommersant.
– NATO needs to understand that all these measures will only be counterproductive, from a military point of view. It should be obvious to any astute person that we will respond militarily to this, he said, according to DPA.
Relations with Russia will be one of the main topics at the NATO  summit in Poland on Friday and Saturday. Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg repudiates a “military response” from the Russians as unreasonable.
– No one in NATO  were suggesting the kind of military presence in the East that we are nowimplementing, before Russia’s annexation of Crimea and aggressive actions against Ukraine, he said.
Presence in east
The Alliance has since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 worked on strengthening the defense in the east. At the summit, Prime Minister Erna Solberg and the 27 other heads of state and government leaders will put the finishing touches on four new battalions in the Baltics and Poland.
– Posting four battalions in four countries, is a limited and very responsible response to a new security reality,  Stoltenberg says and adds that he sees no immediate danger of military attacks against any of the NATO countries.
