The Salangen sheriff’s office say to the newspaper Folkebladet that they are now unravelling what could become the most comprehensive case on downloading material showing child abuse.
3,324,225 stills and 21,161 videos are classified as punishable material. In addition, 1.3 million photographs and several thousand videos are classified as potentially criminal, according to the newspaper. Sheriff in Salangen, Hans Roar Rasmussen, describes the case as being beyond belief .
– This is a huge amount of material, even if you compare it to other similar cases throughout the land. People in the know have told me that this case is one of the biggest cases in Norway, perhaps the biggest,  Rasmussen says.
