A family of four and and their three neighbors were left homeless after a fire in a semi-detached house on Breistein in Bergen on Friday night.

The fire department was alerted about the fire in Åsane just before 2 AM on  Saturday,  NRK reports. When emergency services arrived after just a few minutes, they were able to estimate that the fire had started in the kitchen or the living room of one apartment,  operations manager Terje Magnussen in Western Police District said to Bergens Tidende.
The fire was extinguished after 45 minutes, but then there were large burns in one half of the building and smoke damage.
A total of seven people have been evacuated. The family moved into a hotel while the three neighbors got a roof over their heads through friends and acquaintances. The house is described as uninhabitable with major water and smoke damage.
