Lower Romerike District Court has sentenced a man to seven years in prison for raping his wife in several public places through a period of 15 years.
The court uses part of its 50 pages long and comprehensive verdict to describe how the woman through more than 15 years lived in a world marked by violence, intimidation and abuse.
According to the verdict the 50-year old man forced his spouse into sexual intercourse in places including outside shop windows, in parks, in the corridors of the hotel, in a corridor on the Danish boat, in a telephone booth and outside a cafe. Several of these incidents took place on holidays abroad.
The verdict also includes regular physical violence by kicks, punches, pulling the spouse by the hair, biting, pinching, and psychological violence by threats, coercion or other forms of violations.
