Fewer EU inspections for larger cars

From fall onwards there will be less frequent  EU inspections of camper vans and other larger cars  .

At present these cars are inspected once a year, while smaller cars are inspected for the first time after four years, and from then on every two years. From October 1, the lower weight limit for cars that must have an annual check increases from 3500 kg to 7500 kg.
Heritage vehicles will also need fewer inspections. From October 1, these vehicles are to follow regular inspection intervals until they are 30 years. They will then be required to be inspected every five years until they are 50 years old. And when they are 50 years old they will be excempt from further controls  .
– There is no good reason why heritage vehicles and larger camper vans and other larger cars are to be inspected more frequently than smaller cars,  Transport Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen said.
