Several rape cases been reported in Oslo during the first half of the year

Oslo police reports that in the first half of 2016 there has been 21 more cases reported about rape or attempted rape than the same period last year. Possibility to retain crime goes simultaneously down.

– Part of the increase is due to complexity of cases where it has been revealed sexual abuse of children by using the Internet and a growing number of rape related cases connected to the contacts established through dating sites on the web which have been mentioned as part of the report.

Police said the statistics show very good results in areas which have been prioritized and affects many and / or vulnerable people. This applies to residential burglary, pocket thefts, robberies, hate criminals (racism, etc.) and violence.

Police efforts in detecting domestic violence have contributed to 19.2 percent more registered reports of family related violence or violence connected to the people with close relations or relatives which has been a priority for police.

Police also mentions the general decline in recorded crime on repeated cases for about 10.4 percent compared with last year.

In the first half of 2016 there has been a lower record with 180 reported cases on personal rubbery which was the lowest in five years.
The number of young offenders has increased by 66 compared with the same period last year, but the figure is still below the average for the previous four half years.
