Minister of Finance Siv Jensen will plead with those who believe that the penalty for rape must be lowered so that more offenders are punished.
– It is a wholly irrelevant policy for FRP. Those who commit such crimes must be punished, and punished severely, Jensen stuck to their party leader speech in Arendalsuka on Wednesday, where she brought up the Hemsedal case that has created much debate.
– This has been an important debate, where many women but also many men were involved, says Jensen, who also believes that the police investigation capacity in rape cases should be strengthened.
– But I must say I disagree with those who advocate for lowering the penalties, she said.
