Six youths have been arrested and charged for three robberies in Stavanger recently.
The arrests took place on Friday and early Saturday, writes Stavanger Aftenblad.
Late Saturday night, all six boys were released on notification that they were charged in connection to a total of three robberies, said police lawyer Ine Knutsen Stenevik.
‘This includes the robbery by Strømsbrua on Thursday night and two of the robberies in Hundvåg last weekend. Everyone acknowledges these facts’, said Stenevik.
The boys are 16-17 years old. Stenevik described them as a group of friends, who are from Stavanger and surrounding areas.
Because of the boys’ age, CPS are connected to the case. All those charged have lawyers, and their parents were informed by the police.
‘Since those arrested are so young, we set special requirements for safeguarding them’, explained police lawyer Ketil Remman.
Since July, there have been at least ten persons robbed in the Stavanger area.
In addition, a gas station was recently robbed. A man has been arrested for that robbery, while another man was arrested for robbing a woman at Madla this week.
