Prime Minister Erna Solberg believes not there’s no need for additional security precautions at the Pride parade in Oslo in June after the massacre in Orlando on Saturday.

At least 50 people were killed when a man opened fire at a nightclub for gays in Orlando, Florida on Saturday night. Although the reason for the attack has not  been established yet, it seems likely that the perpetrator directed his attack against the gays.

June 17  the Pride Festival , for LGBTI people (Lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender and intersex) from all over the country, starts in Oslo but the prime minister told TV 2 that she does not think there’s any need for additional security precautions at the festival.

– But ultimately, that’s up to the police to decide,  Solberg says to TV2 news .
On Saturday  the prime minister spoke at the Rainbow Days in Bergen, which she describes as a joy and a celebration.
Solberg adds that it is important not to conclude that this was an attack against the gays before the police investigation is completed.
