Norway must stay well informed, says Prime Minister Erna Solberg after discussing brexit with Britain’s outgoing Prime Minister David Cameron.
– We’ve talked about how we will co-operate further around their choices related to brexit, said Solberg.
Saturday she used the time before one of the meetings at the NATO summit in Poland to have a chat with Cameron.
– We have established contact between those working on this with him, and those who work with us, she says about how Norway should remain “well-informed and involved in the discussions and deliberations the British have now.”
She does not believe they will have a choice of EU direction until they have a new prime minister in place. But when they begin to lay their plans down, it will have importance for how Norway is associates with the EU, she says.
