A drizzle and a Tromso under low clouds heralded the royal couple’s anniversary trip Saturday. The Queen made a unexpected visit to the king’s table.

It has been 25 years since the royal couple took the throne. Until next Wednesday, the anniversary will have been marked in six cities. On Saturday in Tromsø, the table was set for the first of six garden parties where 300 invited guests come to eat local food and celebrate the anniversary Royals.
Warmed
The event at Skansen was cold. But Carmen, Andrea, and Leander rigged up a full blown royal table where they were eventually joined by the Queen. With a resolute grip on the rainbow-colored umbrella, she offered shelter to the Royal celebrant. Around the royal table was agreed that the Queen’s visit warmed the cold.
Troubled Finnmark
King Harald expressed gratitude for their attendance at the garden party with a tribute to northern Norway.
“As you might have noticed, we are very happy in Northern Norway and are finding new pretexts to visit our northernmost counties. Therefore, it is quite natural for us to start our journey here in Tromsø. We think we bothered Finnmark enough last year,” said the king.
He recalled previous visits in Tromso, both official and private.
“The Queen and I have been 25 years older, but it fortunately everyone else has too. Norwegian society is not the same today as in 1991. We have other challenges and we have other options. Trust, fellowship, and generosity are values ??we cherish, and it requires something of us to live with those values in everyday life,” the king said.
The royal couple were to be present during the big marathon and feast, the Midnight Sun Marathon, on Saturday, with almost 6,000 participants from 70 countries.
The jubilee journey will continue in Bodo Sunday before Trondheim, Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand are next.
