There has been one extra immigrant to Norway every third refugee who has been granted residence here from 1990 to 2015.

During these 25 years, 141,300 refugees were received from 169 different countries in Norway. The refugees make up 2.7 percent of the country’s population, according to figures from Statistics Norway.

Every sixth refugee has received one or more family members here. The largest groups, Somali and Iraqi refugees, have received the highest family members in Norway.

Of the 45,100 immigrant families, 77 percent aremalready family members, while the rest have come to marry a person who has been granted residence.

Six out of ten are women.
Over 31,000 people applied for asylum according to Immigration Directorate (UDI) in Norway in 2015, mostly from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. It is too early to say how big family it will trigger.
