Stabbing & Arrest at Oslo Cafe’

Sunday evening, July 1st, a knife attack at an Oslo cafe left a woman facing life-threatening injuries and a man under arrest for the deadly assault.

 

Oslo police district operations manager Steinar Hausvik gave statement to NTB of the attack, saying “The man arrested was held by citizens at the location until police arrived.”

POLICE FIRST-AID
Oslo police patrol were first to respond, giving emergency first-aid to the woman until the ambulance staff arrived. She was taken by emergency ambulance to Oslo University Hospital Ullevål.

The woman received emergency, life-saving surgery Sunday evening.

Sara Fredriksen, spokesperson for Ullevål spoke with Norwegian News Agency, (NTB) saying that the woman is facing life-threatening injuries; “We won’t have any further details about the person’s involved or of the alleged attack,” said Fredriksen.

WITNESSES TO ATTACK
Witnesses at the scene were first to tell NTB that the stabbing happened inside the Oslo bar known as Tiffani Café at Behrens’ gate 2.

That report was later confirmed by police spokesman Hausvik.

Police are unclear of what relationship, if any, exists between the alleged attacker and the injured woman and gave no further details.
