The State appeals the verdict from the Oslo District Court that agrees with the terrorist Anders Behring Breivik’s claim that his prison conditions are contrary to human rights.

After receiving professional advice from our State Attorney , and in consultation with the Prison Correctional Agency, I have today asked the Attorney General to appeal the ruling, saying the Justice Minister Anders Anundsen (FRP).
The main reason for the appeal is that the conditions that Breivik is serving under , in the view of the State does not constitute “inhuman or degrading treatment” under article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), as the Oslo District Court concluded in its judgment.
In the appeal, the State will argue that it disagrees with both the District Court’s application of the law and its evidence evaluation.
The appeal has not yet been launched, but will be submitted to the court within the appeals deadline, which is one month after the District Court’s judgment was announced.. The verdict was passed and proclaimed on  April 22.
