The strike of Parat that has started because the negotiations with the Norwegian Hospitality Association broke down will affect the supplies of meals for flights to and from Gardermoen and Flesland
I find it hard to understand that the Norwegian Hospitality Association has not been willing to meet any of our demands. We will go on strike on Friday morning, which will affect supplies of all arline meals on flights from Gardermoen and Flesland, Parat negotiator Grethe Diserud says.
192 Federation members in Gate Gourmet will on strike from Friday at 6 in the morning.
The chief negotiator of Parat, Turid Svendsen says the deadline for coming to an agreement was originally on the midnight of Thursday, but states that the Norwegian Hospitality prefers conflict to solutions.
– Our demands are largely congruent with the demands of the United Federation. This both goes for our demand for the right to genuine local negotiations and our demand for wage increases for the low-paid people of the industry. Parat also demands a responsibility increment for airport employees, Svendsen says.
The airline meal strike will affect the catering deliveries to airlines such as SAS, Norwegian, Wideroe, Thai Airways, Qatar Airways and United Airlines
