Stronger au pair rules on consultation

The Ministry of Justice proposes that host families using au pairs should not be host families again.

The proposal issued for consultation is a follow-up to a resolution in Parliament following a proposal from both SVs Kristin Bergstø and Karin Andersen.

– Today, temporary quarantines can only be imposed if a host family seriously or repeatedly violates the terms of the au pair agreement, or if someone in the host family has committed serious acts against the au pair. The proposal, which is now being sent for consultation, means that in the most serious cases it must be possible to impose a lasting quarantine, the ministry writes.

The consultation deadline is set for August 6th.
