Two out of three want more government funding of the roads in this country. Only 4.4 percent believe roads should be funded with more tolls.
A total of 62.3 percent say they want more government funding for Norwegian roads. This is stated in a survey conducted by InFact for Nettavisen.
One in four, 26 percent says that the distribution between toll and state funding should be as today and 8 percent have no opinion.
“It’s no surprise that the figures show this and we have clear ambitions to get more done,” said Minister of Transport Jon Georg Dale (Frp) to the newspaper.
He points out that he campaigned to reduce toll road fees, pointing out that, in the latest proposal for next year’s state budget, the government has taken steps to reduce these fees – by giving half a billion kroner in so-called toll road discounts outside the cities. At the same time, the number of toll companies has been reduced from 60 to 5.
The background figures for the survey show that the resistance to toll charges is high in all the parties.
A total of 1,009 people in a country representative committee were asked in the survey. The total error margin is 3 percentage points.
