Nordic leaders join forces to reach UN sustainability goals

On Wednesday, eleven Nordic business leaders launched an initiative to speed up efforts to reach the sustainability goals of the United Nations (UN).

The Group consists of the Chief Executive Officers (CEO) of Hydro, Equinor, GSMA, Ìslandsbanki, Nokia, SAS, Swedbank, Telenor, Telia, Vestas and Yara International.

In a press release, it is stated that the aim of the initiative is to focus on «Business models that are in line with today’s ethical, social and environmental priorities».

An important goal should be how to improve progress in the achievement of the sustainability goals of UN through responsible business and different partnership models.

In addition, it will be discussed how sustainability can be rooted in the core business and not perceived as an «exercise in obligation».
